Revised Raiden MK9 [xps download]

here's a brand new raiden for you to enjoy! he's been through lots of changes and upgrades to match his mkx version, including: full body rescaling, outfit retexturing, and complete face repainting/resculpting (and adding majestic hair!). being able to see raiden without his cowl is a particular favorite feature of this model, at least for me, and it doesn't hurt that he's somewhat adorable in general. predictably, i have a real soft spot for raiden (my second favorite MK god) as you may have noticed. although raiden required tons of effort and dozens of fixes and last-minute edits, hence the delay in release time - he's finally here!

here's some more extensive information about raiden's changes:
-he has hair now! the choice of hairstyle was inspired by some of his concept art, his alt designs in other games, and his movie appearances. note: he still has his hat, which sits normally atop his head. it's an optional item - activate it through that menu
-he was redesigned in line with his mkx model - he's re-scaled physically for mkx body proportions/type as well as now being the same height (the mk9 raiden was much smaller). his shoulders are lower, body more muscular and sturdy (arms, legs, waist), etc - you can see the changes fairly easily in the comparison i posted elsewhere on my dA, if you're curious
-his face was completely repainted, including removing the cowl. my intention was to give him a very similar face to mkx raiden, including skin tone and texture. i also did a resculpt of his face via armature editing, so he has the same features now. mkx raiden looks much more asian than mk9 raiden, which makes sense since he's a japanese god, so with that in mind i thoroughly changed most elements of the mk9 face (including removing the awful stubble). his eyebrows are also grey rather than black now
-way, way more outfit textures. his tunic and his sleeves/pants are both edited extensively to add a visible woven texture. the sleeves and pants are storm-grey now with a white cloud pattern overlaid, while on the blue tunic there is a similar pattern which is more subtle. his belt and the two strips of black cloth connecting to his pants are now greyish with visible cloth dynamics, to blend in more naturally with the rest of his outfit. the straps on his arms and legs have the same appearance
-the greaves and gauntlets are more weathered with an embossed metal surface, not just smooth and glossy (same for his shoulder plates). the gold trim is mostly unchanged, but shares the same texture
-his armature is revised for his tunic cloth to fall naturally, as well as his arms resting normally at his sides, instead of the t-pose. keep this in mind! i've included pics of his default pose (with the hat visible) in the imgur link for reference

NOTE: a version of his model that is just the head is packed within the download (called justthehead.mesh) that can be rigged onto new outfits. it has been de-boned of the body armature, but the face and hair bones are still in place, of course. this is for any 3d modelers who want to play godly dress up, which i myself do way too often. enjoy!
